Reduce your Auto Insurance Premiums

5 Ways to Reduce Your Auto Insurance Premiums

  1. 1 Drive safely and drive less

  2. Generally, the longer you drive without major citations or accidents, the lower your premium will be. In addition, the more time you spend driving and the farther the distances, the higher the likelihood that you may end up in an accident regardless of how safe a driver you are. Consider car-pooling, taking public transportation or riding your bike. If you are a safe driver, Farmers offers a safe driver discount to reward your good driving habits.

2 Research before you buy

Before you commit to buying a new car, be sure to do your research. Some makes and models of cars, particularly those with excellent safety, theft loss or accident records, can be less expensive to insure.
If you're considering several models and can't decide, I can help you make an informed decision providing some coverage price comparisons for the models you're interested in. A higher -- or lower -- insurance coverage premium may make the decision for you.
3 Purchase multiple Farmers policies
You will save if you purchase multiple policies with Farmers: insure additional cars, a motorcycle, boat, RV or your home and you can save on all of your insurance premiums. Add a Life insurance policy and save even more.
4  Ask about additional discounts
Ask me about the discounts available in Texas. Some common discounts include Safe Driver, Good Student, Multiple Vehicles, Multiple Policies, EFT and Paid in Full.

   5  Choose a higher deductible
A deductible is the amount of a covered loss you agree to pay before the benefits of your policy are applied. In many cases, a higher deductible could mean a lower monthly premium, but would also mean paying more out-of-pocket in the event of a loss.

Factors That Affect Car Insurance Rates

You may not realize it, but your overall rate is also affected by many more different factors – some of which you can control, and many of which you cannot. However, knowing what affects your rate can help you make a more informed decision when purchasing insurance, and can help you know exactly what to do to lower your expenses. Demographic Factors Your gender, age, marital status, geographical location, and credit score all affect your insurance rates in different ways. 1. Gender and Age Young men usually incur higher rates than young women as statistically, more male teenagers have accidents than female teenagers. However, older men generally have better rates than older women. Some evidence suggests that older women are in more minor accidents than older men – though the difference in premium costs usually isn’t drastic. 2. Marital Status Married people tend to have fewer accidents than single people; therefore, getting married (especially for men) can significantly ...
